OVERVIEW
Malaysia Airlines is the flag carrier for Malaysia, operating over 3000 weekly flights to a wide-range of destinations. Malaysia Airlines operates flights from its home base, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, to more than 100 destinations in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South Africa and the USA. An extensive domestic network and charter services are also operated.

Malaysia Airlines fleet renewal strategy is based around
- Owning a third of the aircraft
- Matching aircraft to the network & strategy (direct and hub & spoke)
- Operate cost efficient aircraft
- Fleet simplification - minimise the number of fleet type
- One model for narrowbody, one core family for widebody, and one ultra large WB for selected markets (A380).

NETWORK STRATEGY
Malaysia Airlines has its main hub at Kuala Lumpur from where it links to a worldwide network. However the carrier also has a secondary hub at Kota Kinabalu which is a natural gateway to Borneo for traffic from China, Taiwan, North Asia, Indonesia and Australia. There is also significant room for growth at Kota Kinbalu (BKI), which is capable of handling 12 million passengers per year.
AIRLINE REQUIRMENTS
Malaysia Airlines is currently planning for Winter 2011.
We require the following data which airports should focus their presentation around;
- An overview of O&D traffic from airport and its serving areas (direct and hub traffic) relevant to MH network.
Additionally airports should consider;
- Direction/development of airports in near/medium term as how the airports will grow in future and where is the future opportunities for the airports' growth. How these help MH grow its network
