Lynden Pindling International Airport Seeks To Enhance North American Connectivity

Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS), the busiest airport in the Bahamas, is seeking to enhance its North American connectivity following a milestone year in which it handled 4.06 million passengers. Operated by Nassau Airport Development Company, the airport currently connects to 32 international and 21 domestic destinations through 22 airline partners.

As co-hosts of Routes Americas 2025, NAS has experienced significant growth in travel demand at Nassau/Paradise Island, resulting in new services, expanded seasonal routes, and increased seat capacity. The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism reported record-breaking visitor arrivals of more than 9.6 million in 2023, including cruise passengers and stay over visitors, further solidifying the Bahamas as a global tourism hotspot.

Connectivity from North America continues to grow, with Alaska Airlines introducing new routes from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) over the past year.

Upcoming routes from NAS include Bahamasair’s 2X-weekly service to Sangster International Airport, Montego Bay, set to launch in November 2024 and Delta Air Lines’ seasonal service from its Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) hub in December 2024, marking the fourth city from which Delta connects to Nassau.
