LAN Peru forecasts 25% rise in domestic travel

Latin American travel is looking rosy, says LAN Peru's president, Emilio Rodriguez. Report by The Hub's sister publication, AVNews.

LAN Peru's president, Emilio Rodriguez, is reportedly feeling confident that domestic air travel in the market will flourish this year.

Rodriguez, who heads up LAN Chile's Peruvian subsidiary, reportedly told reporters: "The Peruvian domestic air travel market will grow by 25% in 2010, as many people are choosing to fly over other transport modes, because they are seeing its time-saving benefits."

The airline operates between eight and 16 daily flights in Peru and is the largest operator in the domestic market, accounting for 80% of all scheduled departures.
