After more than 40 years of service, Japan Airlines (JAL) has operated its last scheduled passenger flights with the Boeing 747. The company’s last two 747-400s made their final touchdown at Tokyo Narita from Honolulu at 12:52pm and from Okinawa at 13:07pm on March 1, closing a significant chapter of the airline's history. JAL received its first 747, a -100 variant, in 1970 and has subsequently operated 112 examples.
