VUELING ROLLS INTO SWITZERLAND
Low-cost carrier Vueling Airlines has announced new non-stop service from its Barcelona base to Zurich. The route will commence on March 27th 2011 and will be operated on a twice-daily basis with A320 equipment. The route is currently operated four-times daily by both Spanair and Swiss International Airlines. IATA BSP data shows that over 176,000 O+D passengers have flown the route between July 2009 and July 2010.
BELLE AIR TO ADD NEW MUNICH SERVICE
Albanian carrier Belle Air has announced that it will commence service from Pristina to Munich. The route will be operated once-weekly with a mix of ATR and narrowbody jets, effective December 14th. The route will be launched four days after Adria Airways inaugurates a six-weekly service on the same city pair.
MUNICH ADDS SOME ICE
Icelandair has announced that from January 22nd, it will begin operating a once-weekly service from the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik to Munich. The route will be operated with B757-300 aircraft. IATA BSP data shows that over 15,000 O+D passengers flew the route between July 2009 and July 2010 with Air Berlin having a 37% share of this traffic.
S7 GOES YEAR ROUND ON ALICANTE AND RIMINI
In Winter 2010 season, new oneWorld member S7 Airlines is operating service to Alicante in Spain and Rimini in Italy as year-round, instead of summer-only service. In Winter, the service operates once a week on each route with Airbus A319. Both routes originate in Moscow Domodedovo and it is the only carrier operating service between these markets.
VIM AIRLINES ANNOUNCES BASEL FLIGHT
Moscow based VIM Airlines will launch services from its major operating base of Moscow Domodedovo to Basel effective January 2nd. The route will be operated once-weekly with B757-200 aircraft. It will be the only airline operating the route.
ICELAND EXPRESS IN CAPITAL EXPANSION
Iceland Express has announced significant route expansion into the UK with new non-stop service to three capital city markets in the UK. Effective June 10th 2011, it will add services to Belfast International once –weekly, a once-weekly to Dublin and a twice-weekly service to Edinburgh. All the new routes will be operated from its Reykjavik base. There is no carrier operating any of these routes currently.

ARMAVIA INCREASES DUBAI SERVICES
Armenian national carrier, Armavia, will add a new fifth weekly frequency from Yerevan to Dubai to be operated with A319 equipment. This week saw FlyDubai launch a thrice-weekly on the same city pair.
