AVIANOVA TO LAUNCH KALININGRAD

Russian low-cost carrier, Avianova will begin new non-stop services from its Moscow Sheremetyevo and St Petersburg bases to Kaliningrad. Effective November 1st, both routes will be operated on a four-times weekly basis. Avianova will compete with Rossiya Airlines on the St Petersburg sector, whilst Aeroflot and its subsidiary Nordavia operate Kaliningrad from Moscow Sheremetyevo.


AER LINGUS ADDS NEW PARIS FLIGHT

Aer Lingus has announced that it will begin scheduled flights from Shannon to Paris Charles de Gaulle, effective December 17th. The route will be operated with A320 equipment on a thrice-weekly basis. Aer Lingus already serves CDG from both Dublin and Cork.


AIR BERLIN ADDS SIX NEW ROUTES FOR SUMMER 2011

Air Berlin, soon to be a member of oneworld has announced six new services beginning from May 1st, 2011 with the following city pairs to be added;

  • Basle- Malta
  • Cologne-Casablanca
  • Baden-Baden- Kos
  • Munster-Catania
  • Munster-Olbia
  • Zurich-Bodrum

BRUSSELS AIRLINES TO LAUNCH MOROCCAN ROUTES

Star Alliance member, Brussels Airlines has announced new services for Summer 2011. It will begin operations to Agadir and Marrakech in Morocco, to be served once-weekly with A319 equipment. Brussels Airlines will compete with Jetairfly on the Agadir sector, and Royal Air Maroc on the Marrakech sector.


BULGARIA AIR HEADS TO MOSCOW

Effective October 30th, Bulgaria Air will launch a weekly triangular service originating in Varna to Moscow Shermetyevo with a scheduled stopover in Bourgas. The route will be operated with B737-700 equipment and will complement existing four-times weekly service from Sofia to Moscow Sheremetyevo operated by the national airline of Bulgaria.


SUN EXPRESS TO LAUNCH ZURICH SERVICE

Turkish based carrier Sun Express has announced that it will launch a twice-weekly service from Istanbul Sabiha Gocken to Zurich commencing October 31st. The route will be operated twice weekly and Sun Express will be the only scheduled carrier operating the route. Turkish Airlines and Swiss International Airlines both service Istanbul Ataturk to Zurich on a twice-daily basis.


ESTONIAN AIR BEGINS CODESHARE AND ADDS NEW ROUTES

Estonian Air will begin codeshare agreements for the coming winter season with KLM and Brussels Airlines. The codeshare agreements will be effective from October 31st and will primarily cover services operated between Tallinn and Brussels as well as Tallinn and Amsterdam. The codeshare agreements will complement new non-stop services from Vilnius to Stockholm, already covered in the Hub and from mid December Estonian Air will begin service from Vilnius to Milan Malpensa.
