An unprecedented number of airlines have already registered to attend Routes Americas 2012 in Nassau building on the success of previous years’ events. The event was officially launched just over a week ago and the number of airlines which will be represented at the event has already equalled the total number of airlines present at this year’s event in Santo Domingo.
Now in its 5th year, the annual gathering of air service decision makers for all of the Americas looks set to be much larger than in previous years as, with 12 weeks to go, 45 airlines are registered to attend the event in Nassau compared to the 12 airlines which were registered 3 months prior to the 2011 event.
Recent airline registrations for Routes Americas 2012 include LAN Airlines Group, Gol Transportes Aéreos, WestJet Airlines and JetBlue Airways who will join many other major US carriers at the event in February of next year. Carriers such as American Airlines, US Airways, Southwest Airlines and Spirit Airlines who confirmed their attendance some time ago are ready to have domestic as well as international conversations. British Airways, the latest airline to register for the 2012 event, will present an industry briefing to attending airports, this will be the first time the airline has attended Routes Americas.
“From an airline point of view, this event is already showing signs of a much increased attendance,” commented Neil Mulligan, Senior Airline Manager for Routes. “Having launched only a week ago it is quite exceptional for any of our events to attract such an early registration rate and with three months to go until the event we are delighted with the level of interest from the carriers. With such an unprecedented number of registrations we fully expect this event to take Routes Americas to the next level.”
Currently seven out of the top ten airlines by available seat kilometres (ASK) operating in the Americas region have confirmed their attendance at next year’s event, further proof that this will be the largest and most successful Routes Americas to date.
