Airline in Focus: Southern Airways Express

Headquartered in Memphis with hubs in Memphis International Airport and Destin Executive Airport, TakeOff North America attendee Southern Airways Express is a regional carrier operating various regional services in the US south east. Southern Airways acquired Mokulele Airlines on 12-Feb-2019. Southern intends to keep the Mokulele brand active while operating all flights on the Southern Airways FAA operating certificate.

In May-2022, Surf Air Mobility entered a binding agreement to acquire Southern Airways Corporation and its affiliated brand Mokulele Airlines, which is expected to be completed concurrently with the closing of the merger with Tuscan in 2H2022.
