In Brief: Northrop To Produce Bomb Fuze Systems For U.S. Navy
The U.S. Navy has awarded Northrop Grumman Defense Systems, Rocket Center, West Virginia, a $167,925,000 contract modification to increase the production of 50,000 FMU-139D/B Bomb Tactical Electronic Fuze systems, 25,000 for CLIN 1001 and 25,000 for CLIN 2001, the Pentagon said Oct. 29. The contract is in support of the Joint Direct Attack Mission family of weapons for the Navy, Air Force, and Foreign Military Sales customers. The work will be performed in Rocket Center, Plymouth, Minnesota; and Camden, Arkansas. It is expected to be completed in December 2029. Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
